One of the standout features of the PoLoo is its automatic cleaning system. Similar to a dishwasher, this electric robot cleans and rinses the artificial grass roll, ensuring a clean and odorless environment for both dogs and owners. The PoLoo accomplishes a series of functions on its own, including adding water, opening the sanitizing dispenser, shooting water through jets to clean the grass roll, draining dirty water, and rolling the poo into a sealed tank inside a plastic bag. The artificial grass is left dry and ready for the next use, thanks to a timer that regulates the length of each cycle.

The PoLoo is made using a combination of aluminum, recyclable polymers, and wood, with colorful textures added for a touch of personalization. It comes in three different sizes to accommodate dogs of all breeds and sizes.

The PoLoo project was finalized in February 2014 in Nichelino Torino, Italy, after years of research and development. The designers, Eliana Reggiori and Adnan Al Maleh, were inspired by the increasing number of dogs traveling with their owners on boats, yachts, and motorhomes. They recognized the importance of creating an appliance that would improve the quality of life for both dogs and their owners during travels and indoor periods.

The PoLoo has received recognition for its innovative design and functionality. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Pet Care, Toys, Supplies, and Products for Animals category in 2015. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements for both humans and animals.
